The Netent brand was founded in 1996, going by its full name of Net Entertainment. It was in ’96 that its roots gathered in the traditional casino world. It was actually the son of Bill Lindwall (co-founder of AB Restaurang Rouletter) who went on to open the Netent brand. Pontus Lindwall pretty much made Netent quite the household name in the gaming sphere when the online scene began taking off in the mid-90s. The first online casino to feature Netent titles was launched in 2000, and that began the meteoric rise of one of the industry’s finest.
It was in 2007 that Netent was spun off and listed on NGM Equity. From there, it moved to the Stockholm Stock Exchange two years later. For the past two plus decades, Netent has churned out popular title after popular title, with its slot releases garnering quite the following from avid players. It has also delved into branded games, releasing titles surrounding movies such as Creature from the Black Lagoon, musical acts like Guns n’ Roses, and television series like Narcos.
As with one or two other developers, Netent has also crafted a dedicated progressive jackpot network. Several of its games therefore feature jackpot amounts for players to try and win, with titles like Divine Fortune, Cosmic Fortune, Arabian Nights and Mega Fortune all having garnered a following over the years.
Alongside all of that, Netent is responsible for crafting table games like roulette and blackjack, too. And furthermore, it has a live casino game studio, ensuring that it is providing a well-rounded selection of titles to the online world.
In order to understand how Netent acquired the rights to provide Megaways™ in some of its games, we’ll need to look at 2019 first of all. It was in this year that the company purchased the slot specialist developer Red Tiger Gaming. Of course, what does this have to do with Megaways™? Well, it was only one year prior to this that Red Tiger had acquired a Megaways™ licence from the Big Time Gaming (BTG) brand. Now, the biggest question people asked at this time was whether or not Netent would be able to benefit from the licence held by Red Tiger at the time of the takeover.
Fast forward onwards to January of 2020 and the question was outrightly answered for gamers. In a sort of collaboration with Red Tiger Gaming, Netent launched the Piggy Riches Megaways™ slot game, making it the first one to be released from the popular brand with Megaways™ included in it. From there, it has launched a few other titles that incorporate the self-same feature, and the rest, as they say, is history.
A decent enough choice of Netent Megaways™ games have been released so far, but perhaps one of the best comes in the shape of the Divine Fortune Megaways™ title. This one was brought to the fore in November of 2020, so it remains as one of the newer slots from the company. And while the original title with this name had a progressive jackpot included in it, the Megaways™ version does not. That doesn’t mean it’s less intriguing to play, though. Instead, Divine Fortune Megaways™ features a wonderful Greek mythology theme, allows stacked wilds on its reels, includes a Falling Wilds Respins round and a free spins round alongside.
One other slot to look out for from this range is Twin Spin Megaways™. Featuring an RTP rate of 96.04% and a medium to high volatility level, this takes the original Twin Spin game and boosts it with the up to 117,649 ways to win. The Twin Reel function remains in operation throughout the game, allowing multiple reels to link up and display the same symbol outcome when the reels come to a halt. Wilds are also present, while an avalanche feature gives you the chance to form multiple wins from a single wager. Throw in free spins and Twin Spin Megaways™ is truly an inviting online slot to play.
