Wolf Power Megaways™ is the February 2022 slot sequel from Playson, inspired by the mountain forests and wildlife of North America. Without a doubt, the most prominent upgrade is the addition of the BTG-licensed Megaways™ mechanic with up to 46,656 pay ways. Wolf Power Megaways™ represents the fifth Megaways slot from Playson.
Wolf Power Megaways™ is optimized for mobile devices (Android and iOS) and online desktops. We'll run you through the slot highlights next.

The original Wolf Power: Hold and Win was released less than a year earlier, in April 2021. Therefore, it's a bit surprising to see a sequel so soon. Presumably, fans were impatient for a Megaways™ sequel, or perhaps Playson identified an opportunity.
It would be an understatement to say that the original artwork embedded in the wildlife symbols was anything short of mesmerizing. No doubt, it is why all 4 returned as high-paying symbols. A brown bear is the highest paying, with a top 20x multiplier. The maximum payout drops to 15x, 10x and 5x on a bald eagle, bighorn ram, and great horned owl. The provider also brought back the low-paying A, K, Q and J.
An instrumental tune creates a spiritual atmosphere, enhanced by animals calling out from the background forest under a dark blue moonlit sky.
A wolf acts as a special symbol: a wild. It can surface anywhere in the playing area, substituting for all the regular paying animals and royals. It can also form a payline of its own with just 2 symbols instead of 3 like the others. Also noteworthy is that its top 50x multiplier trumps the maximum multiplier of the brown bear (20x), making it king.
Another special symbol is the scatter, illustrated as a lonely mountain partially eclipsing a full moon, appearing on any reel. Although it is not a scatter pays symbol, its function is to unlock free spins as it did in the original.
The bonus and 'power symbols' are collected and used to unlock a bonus game. You'll recognize the bonus symbol as a sun, while the power symbol resembles a gold coin with a howling wolf's head. Answer the call of the wild to win the 2,000x bet max bonus.
From land to sea, there's no limit to where you can find yourself playing Megaways™ slots. If adventures on the high seas interest you, try Pirate Pays Megaways™ from BTG.
The volatility of Wolf Power Megaways™ is medium-high, but the theoretical return to player (RTP) is not clear. There is no clear consensus on the maximum payout (outside of the bonus game), so it's impossible to assess its suitability given the volatility. What we can say is that you'll likely need a higher bankroll to play for longer.

Wolf Power Megaways™ is available at leading Megaways™ casinos, and we have some great suggestions on the best places to enjoy them. The gameplay is straightforward, with bets ranging from £0.20 to £100, adjusted from below the playing area. The big red button to the right commences a spin, and above that is the autoplay button to set the number of spins (5-999), loss limit and single win limit. Check out the paytable for a complete set of game rules and payouts.
Wolf Power Megaways™ has a max of 46,656 pay ways, depending on the number of symbols (2-6) landing on each of the 6 reels. The Megaways™ mechanic randomly determines this, independently from one reel to another.
If we had to go to the most exciting feature, the free spins would be it. These can be unlocked by 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters for 10, 15, 20 or 25 free spins, respectively. An enhancement of the feature is the introduction of expanding wilds. A wolf wild that lands on any space expands to cover the entire reel, a helpful extra to have.
Any combination of 6+ bonus or power symbols are enough to trigger the slot's bonus game. These triggering symbols are frozen in position until the end of the feature. Each bonus symbol displays a value of 1x-10x bet, and three starting respins are granted. During the respins, any new bonus or power symbols also freeze in position while resetting the number of respins back to three. Power symbols are collected and reward a prize of up to 2,000x bet on 6 symbols. Another special symbol, called a booster, may land on a reel, increasing the reel height by one space (up to 6) and adding a 1x reel multiplier.
Wolf Power Megaways™ slot is a near carbon copy of the original Wolf Power: Hold and Win. The artwork is nearly identical, and many of the features are carried over into the second instalment. Given that they worked rather well in the original, we're not entirely surprised to see Playson borrow previous work. To its credit, the bonus game is enjoyable enough, as is the free spins games with expanding wilds.
However, as a Megaways™ slot, Wolf Power Megaways™ fails to capture the essence of the mechanic to its full potential. For starters, the provider opted to go with 46,656 ways to win instead of 117,649. It also ignored the novelty of the extra (horizontal) reel available in other Megaways™ slots. Equally baffling is the absence of a cascading feature.
Wolf Power Megaways™ is not a bad slot, but it does feel like it wants to be a Megaways™ slot in name only. Considering that this is the fifth Megaways™ slot from Playson, you would hope that they'd have figured out the appeal of Megaways™ slots by now. The lack of clarity on the RTP and the maximum payout potential also irked us. We can imagine another sequel to address the shortcomings that's less rushed would prove a hit.
